1-minute summary

In this episode of his CEO diary, Christoph Standl talks about why artificial intelligence can make work in tourism better again. He sees enormous potential in tourism in particular: since Covid, many people have left the industry, while hotels, tourism regions, leisure facilities and restaurants work with small teams and still have to handle an incredible number of tasks – looking after guests, answering emails, marketing, invoices, reports. His question: do people have to do all of that themselves in the future? At Tourismus Interaktiv, specialised AI agents for management, finance, projects, sales, marketing and support have already been built; they help to bring information together, analyse issues and drive decisions. From this, the TI Agent Services for tourism are emerging, with first tests at reference customers – and part of the current financing round is deliberately going into this area. For him it is not only about growth or productivity, but about work being fun again: a hotelier did not become a hotelier to do routine administration every evening, but to look after guests. So the decisive question is not which jobs AI replaces, but which work it can spare us humans – time for the guest, for employees, for important decisions, or simply to go home earlier. Big changes often begin with small daily steps.

Description

Artificial intelligence will change the world of work – and in tourism in particular I see a great opportunity in it. Many tourism businesses work with small teams while more and more tasks have to be handled at the same time. At Tourismus Interaktiv we therefore already rely on specialised AI agents today and are developing them into our TI Agent Services for tourism. In this episode I talk about why, for me, AI does not primarily mean replacing people, but relieving them of routine work and creating more time again for guests, employees and important decisions. I also give a brief insight into why we are deliberately investing further in this area as part of our current financing round. Because the decisive question may not be which jobs AI replaces – but which work it can spare us humans.
